Candy Land

Candy Land

A story by Vikki

Once upon a time, above the ground and in the skies, there were two fairy animals sitting on a rainbow. One was a fairy frog, and the other was a fairy pig. The fairy frog’s name was Angel, and the fairy pig’s name was Pinkybow.

They both went to visit the four lands: Undersea Land, Colour Land, Sky Land, and finally Candy Land. They had found the first three lands but couldn’t find CandySweet Land — so they stayed at Sky Land on a rainbow, where they could figure out anything about the fourth land.

They tried so hard. They kept on thinking they were failing, when they noticed a bright distance with lots of colors (it looked like a peppermint rainbow!). In the distance, they flew towards the bright and unusual thing. They saw a Candycane key, and the light was a door!

Angel and Pinkybow both took the key and unlocked the door into the very sweet-scented air. Sound bloomed and the door opened. Inside was CandySweet Land!

The two fairies flew inside — oh, what a sight!

There was mint chocolate, and the skies were a swirl of flowers like a lollipop! Clouds were cotton candy, and the waters were chocolate! Clouds dropped mini peppermints as candies for snow, and melted chocolate for rain! Each flower was made of frosting, and the houses were gingerbread houses! All the creatures that lived there were even sweeter!

Every wing they flapped to go faster was chocolate!

But then suddenly, all the sweetness started fading into what it was like in the human world. The creatures became human, and the scenery turned into real nature! The magic was fading.

Angel and Pinkybow swooped down to a creature that was half-human and asked,

“What is happening? Why is all the sweet magic fading?”

“You two must be the Guardians of the land!” said the creature. “And you have just seeked our land — sorry you had to wait. The CandySweet conditions weren’t right for the stars to shine the light so early! Anyways, the magic is gone because you both had a Candycane to open the portal — but it seems you forgot to bring it inside the portal, and it dropped. Dropped down to the human land, and it was taught by the wrong hands,” the creature explained.

“Oh no! We were supposed to BRING ALONG the Candycane?!” Pinkybow exclaimed.

“Do not worry, we already planned a drill for this. The Guardians will go to the WHITE CHOCOLATE HOUSE, and the Sweet King and Queen will open a portal for you to CandySour Land!”

The creature frowned. “What’s so bad about sour candy?”

“I love it!” Angel said. “It’s sour and sweet!”

The creature said,

“The ruler controls everyone — the poor sour candies! They are innocent, but once dropped, the ruler gives them the most sourest, disgusting classics. Worst is the Bitterguard,” the creature whispered, afraid, saying it lives with the Sour Ruler. (Scary!)

Pinkybow and Angel said, “Let’s do it!”

“But please continue,” Angel said.

“When a Guardian sneaks into the Sour Palace, when a Guardian World drops a key to our land, it enters the opposite. You must retrieve the Candycane from Sour Land! Anyways, the ruler will probably already be guarding it because he loves our land’s bad conditions. There is a safe in there, and you will need a wand to open it. Luckily, a Sour Candy that ran away from there and came here knew the magic of the wand — so we made a replica with the same magic. Anyways, you’ll take that wand and open the safe and retrieve the Candycane!” the creature said.

“Well, we better start our journey!” Pinkybow and Angel said.

They started off by flying to the WHITE CHOCOLATE HOUSE!

They flapped their wings faster than ever, racing through the swirly cotton candy skies! Angel did a little loop-de-loop out of excitement, and Pinkybow giggled as she tried to copy but spun out of control into a marshmallow cloud!

“Whoa! Careful, Pinkybow!” Angel laughed.

They zoomed toward the bright, glowing White Chocolate House. The house stood tall and magical — its walls were thick white chocolate bricks, the roof was dripping with melted marshmallow, and the windows were framed with peppermint sticks! The sweet smell of chocolate and vanilla filled the air.

Angel knocked three times on the candy cane door. Knock! Knock! Knock!

The door creaked open slowly, and inside sat the Sweet King and Queen, each on a throne made of jellybeans and frosting swirls.

“Welcome, brave Guardians!” the Sweet Queen said warmly.

“You must be ready to begin your mission,” the Sweet King added, smiling kindly.

Pinkybow and Angel bowed respectfully.

The Queen handed them a sparkling wand with a swirling lollipop at the top. “This is the Magic Wand,” she said. “It holds the spell you’ll need to open the safe in CandySour Land.”

The King leaned forward. “Be careful — the Sour Ruler will be guarding it closely. Trust in your magic, and trust each other.”

Angel and Pinkybow nodded.

“We will do our best!” Angel promised.

Pinkybow clutched the Magic Wand tightly as they flew out of the White Chocolate House and soared high into the cotton candy clouds.

As they flew closer to CandySour Land, the skies began to darken. The bright, colorful clouds turned gray and gloomy. The air smelled sharply of sour lemon drops and old licorice.

“Ewww, it smells yucky here!” Pinkybow said, wrinkling her nose.

“Stay strong,” Angel encouraged. “We can do this!”

Below them, CandySour Land looked spooky. The rivers were bubbling with sour slime, the trees were crooked licorice sticks, and the sky rumbled with sour jelly lightning!

In the middle of it all stood the Sour Palace — tall, sticky, and surrounded by a moat of sour syrup.

They swooped down and landed quietly behind a rock made of sour jawbreakers.

Angel peeked over it. “There are guards everywhere!” she whispered.

Pinkybow gulped. “What do we do?”

Angel thought for a second, then smiled. “We’ll sprinkle Sweet Sparkle Dust from the wand to make them sneeze!”

Pinkybow grinned. “Brilliant!”

Angel waved the Magic Wand gently, and a sprinkle of glittering sugar dust floated over the guards.

“Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!”

The sour guards sneezed so hard they tumbled into the sour syrup moat!

“Quick, let’s go!” Angel whispered.

They zoomed into the Sour Palace.

Inside, everything was dark and sticky. Sour jelly oozed from the walls. It was cold, and the air smelled even worse!

They tiptoed through the hallways, their wings barely making a sound.

Pinkybow almost stepped in a puddle of sticky sour slime, but Angel grabbed her just in time!

Finally, they found a HUGE golden door with a big sour skull carved in the center.

“The Safe must be behind there,” Angel said.

Pinkybow nodded nervously.

Angel waved the Magic Wand in a big circle and said, “Sugar Shine, open wide!”

The golden door rumbled and creaked open slowly.

Inside, standing proudly in the middle of the room, was the Safe — covered in sour crystals, locked tight. Inside it, they could see a faint rainbow glow — the Candycane!

Pinkybow ran forward, holding out the Magic Wand. She placed it into the candy-shaped keyhole.

Click!

The Safe swung open, and the beautiful Candycane floated out, spinning slowly in the air!

Angel grabbed it carefully. “We have it!”

But just then —

BOOM!

CRASH!

ROAAARRR!

The Sour Ruler burst into the room! He was huge, covered in sour sugar armor, and his eyes were glowing sour green!

“THIEVES!” he bellowed. “YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE!”

Angel and Pinkybow gasped.

“RUN!” Angel yelled.

They zipped past him, dodging sour gummy blobs being thrown at them. The floor shook under their feet as sour gummy guards chased them through the halls!

Pinkybow tripped and almost dropped the Candycane, but Angel swooped down and grabbed her just in time!

They flew out of the palace doors, but the Sour Ruler was gaining on them!

“We need the portal!” Pinkybow cried.

Angel held up the Candycane high into the stormy sky and shouted, “Candy Portal, open now!”

The Candycane flashed with rainbow light, and a swirling portal opened above the sour palace!

The Sour Ruler roared and leapt after them, but Angel and Pinkybow flapped their wings faster than ever and dove straight into the colorful portal!

WHOOSH!

They tumbled out of the sky and landed right into a fluffy pile of frosting flowers back in CandySweet Land!

The Sweet King and Queen, along with all the candy creatures, ran toward them, cheering and throwing jellybean confetti!

“You did it!” cried the Queen.

“Our magic is saved!” cheered the King.

Angel carefully placed the Candycane into the special Candy Holder.

As soon as it clicked in —

BOOM!

A wave of sweet, colorful magic burst out across the land! The skies turned pink and gold again. Chocolate rivers flowed strong, cotton candy clouds floated back into the sky, and the peppermint snowflakes fell gently from above.

All the houses fixed themselves with fresh frosting, and the flowers made of candy began to dance!

Pinkybow twirled in the air, covered in sparkles. “We did it!” she shouted.

Angel smiled. “We saved CandySweet Land!”

The Sweet King and Queen crowned them with candy crowns — Angel’s crown was made of tiny peppermint candies, and Pinkybow’s was a twisted swirl of chocolate and jellybeans!

“You are true Guardians of CandyLand now,” said the Queen proudly.

Angel and Pinkybow looked at each other and giggled.

“Time for a lollipop break?” Pinkybow asked hopefully.

Angel laughed. “Definitely!”

As the candy creatures cheered and the chocolate sun set behind the candy mountains, Angel and Pinkybow flew into the sky, ready for whatever sweet adventure would come next!
